The subtle, melodic rhythms of the PANArt "hang" — arguably the first new musical instrument of the 21st century. It's a descendant of the steel pan drum, the product of Swiss craftsmanship and perfectionism. And in the hands of a musician with the right sensibility, it's a vehicle for innerspace travel.
On this transmission of Hearts of Space, summer spacemusic for the hang and some of its siblings in the resonant percussion family, on a program called "CEREMONY." Music is by JAMES HOOD, LAURA INSERRA & DARREN GIBBS, CHRISTOPHER OF THE WOLVES, TRYSHE DHEVNEY, and RAVID GOLDSCHMIDT.

7-24-22. I have by various means recorded from one site or others 'too much' of this kind of 'hang' music, after hearing it on HoS. And then played it for hours as I work, letting my mind, such as it is, expand to contemplate and comprehend the greater subject-matter I am considering at the time. How it can fill audible-listening-space and yet empty metaphysical-thought-space at the same time, to let me fill that space again with deeper ideas, I don't know. Maybe someone else can tell me. I simply listen. And think. rg
