No season brings more mixed emotions than autumn. Reluctantly, we say goodbye to the warm, relaxing, active days of summer. It's back to work — and there's extra work to prepare for the coming winter.
The nights grow cool, then cold, and with them the first storms of the season arrive with life-giving rain — ironically at the very time much of the natural world is withering and dying. In a final irony, nature celebrates with a passing show of wildly intense colors...a complex palette of reds, oranges, ochres, browns, golds, maroons and purples. The music of the season embraces these contrasts and contradictions, from resolute activity to melancholy resignation. On this transmission of Hearts of Space, an ambient electronic journey for autumn called SHADOWFALL 3.
Music is by CHAD KETTERING, STEVE ROACH, DAVID PARSONS, A PRODUCE, HAROLD BUDD & CLIVE WRIGHT, and DARSHAN AMBIENT.

Go back over the introductions to a good bunch of HOS programs from all over the year, check the ones in the Fall season.
Stephen is at his most sensitive and articulate, getting it just right, especially for those of us in the mid-Atlantic states.
The words ring true every year over the years. Much appreciated, sensei.

Steve and Stephen,
Thank you for introducing us to Chad Kettering - I purchased his album on Amazon after hearing this show. It is a wonderful piece - I hope we will be hearing more from this talented artist.
As always, "Shadowfall 3" was great show - a typical HOS autumn masterpiece.
Keep up your outstanding work!
