Fall...is the season of descent. Everything is falling: leaves, of course; the temperature; the amount of daylight; and frequently, the rain. The music of fall is darker, lower, shadowed, mutable, with glints of gold — perfectly expressed by the complex timbres of the cello, the oboe, and the piano.
On this transmission of Hearts of Space, we explore the ambient tonalities and sombre emotions of the autumn season, on a program called...SHADOWPLAY. Music is by cellist DAVID DARLING and pianist KETIL BJORNSTAD, MICHAEL JON FINK, RICK COX, and the sublime TIM STORY.
