When the definitive history of 20th century music is written, there will be a short but intense chapter on the phenomenon called GOTHIC.
It is in this darkly ethereal environment that atmospheric electronics, medieval dirges, and high-style romantic pop genres like Gothic Rock, Dreampop, Darkwave, Goth-Industrial and Goth-Metal intersect, cross-pollinate, and breed new shades of crimson roses.
On this edition of Hearts of Space, we explore the sounds and metaphors of this area of ethereal space music on a program called GOTHICA. Music is by ANGELS OF VENICE, VAS, DEAD CAN DANCE, LISA GERRARD, JOCELYN MONTGOMERY, ANNE DUDLEY and others.
