PGM 452 "OCEANIC" : Week of Oct. 3rd...

As deep as the ocean...as wide as the sea...goes the popular song. At over 70% of our planet, the ocean is not only the largest, but the most important natural feature on earth; the source of all life, the engine of the weather — not to mention an endless supply of metaphors. Musicians have long been inspired by its vast expanse, its awesome power, its mysterious depths.

On this 25th Anniversary retrospective edition of Hearts of Space, a program of romantic spacemusic inspired by the ocean, called OCEANIC. Music is by VANGELIS, RAPHAEL, RICHARD BURMER, and CONSTANCE DEMBY.
