PGM 294R "CARAVAN" : Week of June 13th...

Dramatic, darkly emotional, and still exotic to Western ears, the music of the Middle East continues to fascinate contemporary musicians.

We're listening to a nicely crafted example of the Biblical epic genre of movie music by SHELDON MIROWITZ from the soundtrack for the television production "Columbus and the Age of Discovery."

On this 25th Anniversary retrospective edition of Hearts of Space, we journey once again through these ancient nomadic soundspaces, softly wailing melodies, and gently rocking rhythms, on a program called CARAVAN. Music is by PAUL AVGERINOS, BRIAN KEANE and OMAR FARUK TEKBILEK, ABED AZRIE, NIGHT ARK and more.
