...we reprise a classic Thanksgiving show from 1989, with music by Kim Robertson, Radhika Miller and David Darling, Eugene Friesen and Paul Halley, Bill Douglas and others, plus compositions by John Lurie and Arvo Part performed by the Kronos Quartet. A lovely, mostly acoustic show exploring the feeling of GRATITUDE.

Week of Nov. 18...

...a new Celtic program featuring new music by the wonderful harpist/singer Aine Minogue, several selections from the Celtic Woman PBS special by singers Orla Fallon and Lisa Kelly, plus new and favorite instrumental tracks from years past.

New Arrivals in the Albums Section

Several weeks ago we quietly doubled the number of titles in the ALBUMS section from the original 30 to about 60. If you haven't already discovered this, please take a moment to look through the expanded list. As before, all of them come from the Hearts of Space family of labels (now owned and operated by Valley Entertainment.) There are some incredibly fine artists and recordings to be discovered here.

Our standard for inclusion in the ALBUMS section is that you can listen to the whole album just like one of our radio shows. The STREAM link under the album description (or title on the detail page) will stream the entire album in sequence; you can also pick individual tracks and stream them one at a time using the smaller STR link on the right of the piece titles. Windows users can also add tracks or albums to their working playlist by using the QUE feature. At the current time you can assemble playlists up to about 6 hours long.

Improving the LOG IN to the service

We've streamlined our log in procedure. Last week we tested the solution and today we rolled it out to the active site.

The "LOG IN/LOG OUT" button has had a brain transplant and now will always show the correct state.

You'll can log in using the big LOG IN button, the TITLE of a show, the STREAM link on any playlist, the big play button in the upper left corner [>] or via the MY ACCOUNT menu item.

From now on, everything should just work...exactly like you'd expect. However, there is one limitation on passwords: the system won't accept your password any more if it doesn't comply with our new stricter security requirements. This is for your protection.

Your password MUST be between 6 and 20 characters (no symbols), of which at least one must be an uppercase letter, one a lowercase letter, and one a number.

If your password is not accepted when you try to log in, click "I forgot my password" in the log in box. If you haven't set up a Secret (Security) Question, send an email to [email protected] and ask for a manual password reset.

In either case, the system will send you a machine-generated password. Use it to log in, then go to MY ACCOUNT, choose Update Password, and change it to something you can remember that meets the security requirements. Also Update the Secret Question so you can do future resets yourself.

A Work in Progress

We're overdue for more communication with our listeners and Archive users and this is where we aim to fix that. The idea is to let everyone using the site know more about what's going on behind the scenes, provide a place for comments, and share all of it in the open.
